1Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using BringIt ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.
You must be at least 18 years old to use BringIt. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
2Description of Service
BringIt is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects shoppers who want items from other countries with travelers who can bring those items during their trips. The Platform facilitates:
- Listing of item delivery requests by Shoppers
- Proposal submission by Travelers
- Secure messaging between users
- Payment processing through Stripe with escrow protection
- Review and rating system
Beta Service Notice: BringIt is currently in beta testing phase. While we strive to provide a reliable service, you may encounter bugs, limited features, or service interruptions. During beta, we recommend limiting transactions to low-value items.
3User Accounts
To use certain features of the Platform, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
- Provide valid identification when requested for verification purposes
4User Conduct and Prohibited Items
Users agree not to:
- Request or transport illegal items
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Engage in fraudulent or deceptive practices
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Attempt to circumvent the Platform's payment system
- Upload harmful content or malware
Prohibited Items:
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives
- Illegal drugs, narcotics, or controlled substances
- Counterfeit goods or pirated products
- Hazardous materials (chemicals, toxic substances, flammable liquids)
- Live animals or restricted animal products
- Stolen goods or items obtained illegally
- Tobacco or alcohol exceeding customs limits
- Items violating intellectual property rights
- Currency exceeding legal declaration limits
Users are responsible for verifying that items comply with all applicable import/export laws and customs regulations of both origin and destination countries.
5Payments, Fees, and Escrow
Platform Fee Structure
BringIt charges a simple 5% platform fee on the item price. This fee is paid by the Shopper.
- Shoppers pay: Item price + Traveler reward + 5% fee (on item price) + Stripe fees
- Travelers receive: 100% of their reward (no fee deducted)
Example: Item costs €100, Traveler reward is €20
- Item price:€100.00
- Traveler reward:€20.00
- Platform fee (5% of €100):€5.00
- Stripe fees (~1.4% + €0.25):~€2.00
- Shopper pays:~€127.00
- Traveler receives:€120.00
Escrow System
All payments are held in escrow by Stripe until delivery is confirmed:
- Shoppers pay upfront when accepting a Traveler's proposal
- Funds are held securely in escrow (not released to Traveler immediately)
- Upon successful delivery, Shoppers confirm receipt through the Platform
- After confirmation, funds are released to the Traveler
- If a dispute arises, funds remain in escrow until resolution
Refund Policy
- If a Traveler cancels before purchasing the item, Shoppers receive a full refund
- If delivery is not completed, Shoppers can request a refund through the dispute process
- Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days after approval
- Stripe processing fees are non-refundable
6Liability and Disclaimers
BringIt is a platform that connects users. We are not responsible for:
- The quality, safety, authenticity, or legality of items
- The ability of Travelers to complete deliveries
- The accuracy of user-provided information
- Customs duties, taxes, import fees, or confiscation by customs authorities
- Loss, damage, or theft of items during transport
- Delays caused by airlines, customs, or other third parties
Customs and Legal Compliance
Users are solely responsible for:
- Understanding and complying with all customs regulations
- Declaring items truthfully to customs authorities
- Paying any applicable customs duties, taxes, or import fees
- Ensuring items are legal to import/export in both countries
The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. BringIt disclaims all liability to the maximum extent permitted by law.
7Dispute Resolution
In case of disputes between users, we encourage direct communication first through the Platform's messaging system.
Internal Dispute Process
- Report the issue through our support system
- Provide evidence (photos, messages, receipts, tracking information)
- Our support team will review the case within 5 business days
- Both parties will have the opportunity to present their position
- BringIt may mediate and make a binding decision on fund release or refund
For legal disputes with BringIt, you agree to first attempt informal resolution by contacting legal@brngit.com. These Terms are governed by French law, and any legal proceedings must be brought in the courts of Paris, France.
8Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including but not limited to fraudulent activity, repeated disputes, or violation of prohibited items policy.
Users may delete their accounts at any time through account settings. Upon termination, pending transactions will be completed or refunded as appropriate.
9Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
